Gas Pedal Raddle

Hi all,

This is the second issue I've had with my car. First was the electrical humming after car has been turned off for some time. NOW....Its the gas pedal and the awful noise it makes and the feeling on my foot.

Does anyone else have this issue?

It has nothing to do with the hinge of the pedal, BMW has already taken it apart and lubed it up. It sounds as if the actually pedal is creaking and cracking. And it feels the part too.

At first I thought it was my shoes (dress shoes), but then I tried it with sandals, sneakers, and bare foot....All with the same sound. As soon as I took it into the service department....they "were unable to duplicate the noise" per usual. So I now have to go back and drive it with them so they can "hear" it.

Any thoughts on whats happening?

Dunno. Easy enough to replace. One bolt and a connector. Probably isn't too expensive if your dealer won't pony up.

Mine has zero sound, creak, binding, etc.

When i first got my car I could hear a slight clicking noise from my gas pedal and could feel it, especially wearing sandals. They lubricated the gas pedal sliders and it fixed it.

If you depress the pedal all the way there is a kick down switch with a noticeable click.

They lubed this pedal up, and they took it apart looking for something to fix....No such luck. It doesn't matter what shoes I wear...the noise is the same.

Im going to have to drive with the service tech to have them hear this and replace the pedal.

Did you ever get this resolved? I just put new wheels and tires with H&R springs on and when I picked it up I noticed the noise/feel when releasing and pressing the gas pedal. Also something similar to with the brake pedal.
