E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

Power steering question?

Well I got around to reinstalling my P/S pump and lines only to discover a leak in the system. Pretty much comes out as fast as I can put it in.

I have narrowed it down to the rack itself. This is where I need some clarity fellas. In my picture where I am pointing the shaft goes in and out of that opening. There is also fluid that comes out (you can see it in the picture) with the shaft and it seeps out of the rubber boot. Correct me if I am wrong but there shouldn't be any fluid coming out onto this shaft right?

Is there a seal that sits right inside this opening im pointing too? I hope I haven't loss you guys in my explanation. Thanks for your time.

No. Tight fit, but it will come out once everything is disconnected from the rack. Hardest part in my experience has been getting the steering shaft knuckle off.
