New 535.. B&O or LUX seats & Electroic Damper Control
Owners,
I am looking a two 535s and wanted some input. Both are arround the same price... Differences: 1- B&O sound system 2- Premium audio, EDC, and LUX seat package Which one would you buy? |

Easy answer for me - living in Miami Beach I'd have to have ventilated seats (I'm in Houston and won't buy a car without them). The premium sound system sounds fantastic to me and I've had a few high end car systems.

Companies seem to finally be giving audio its due, but stealth pilot said he wasn't overly impressed with the B&O in his m5 so based on that and being bound by choice I'd go #2 (even though I LOVE the best audio money can buy |

I really doubt there one can enjoy B&O in such suboptimal listening environment as noisy moving car.
(actually in my opinion B&O is very overpriced/overhyped but underspeced brand anyway) |

No brainer. B. The seats and the adjustable dampers make a huge difference. The B&O? Not as much...

) on the market, but if your feeding it Itunes .99 cent tracks it can't get any better (handicapped in laminas terms). This is whats going on with the B&O in my op (although I'll take Stealths op over my own), the system isn't capable of playing blu-ray disks, sacds, exc. so its limited in the punch it can give before you even get into acoustics. My Client Adviser always recommends against Option 1 unless you are determined to get every option. I have your Option 2 and those are great options.

First on the list of needs to have are the seats.
Spending money on upgraded hifi in a car is something that belongs on the end of the wishlist. |

Imagine the cost to replace the B&O amp if it burned out!

I have the B&O system on my 550 and I absolutely love it. Sound quality is excellent on CDs and an iPod. It does not sound so good if you listen to satellite radio. If you are into hifi and are willing to forego listening to satellite, I think the B&O is worth every penny.

I have both and recommend option 2.

I have all of these, and B&O would be the last option I would buy. It is nice, but it is completely unnecessary.
The lux seats and EDC are critical features IMO.

Given those two options, I think most people will pick #2. Seat comfort is probably one of the most important thing in a luxury car and those comfort seats in the F10 are simply amazing. I havent heard the B&O in the BMW yet but I have play with the B&O system in the A6. My opinion is that the B&O system is not worth the money, its a bit better than the premium, but not much. I can think of better options to use the money on instead of the B&O.

Not even a question...better seats & premium audio will give you an exceptional experience.

Option #2, the multi-contour seats alone are worth the weight. Also, don't forget the Driver Assistant Package. Without it, you will not get the backup camera. I'm not sure why BMW didn't make that a standard on the 535. A poster here bought a 535 and found out they didn't have the backup camera after the fact. The F10 is a quite a large vehicle and the camera helps a lot.

Personally I'd take the adj. suspension over B&O. For factoy "BWM Professional" is enough. I pay more attention to HVAC, seats, and of course the engine.
Get what makes you happy. I have to say the adj. suspension does make a difference when riding around on poorly maintained roads. I leave mine pretty much in "Comfort" for daily driving.
