Business Owners - BMW X5 Tax Savings 2012 and 2013
If you are like me and doing similar research then please find below about few facts of X5 100% business use purchase.
Buying X5 before Dec 31, 2012: X5 Purchase Price: $60,000 with 100% Business Use Immediate tax depreciation write-off @ $25,000 Additional 50% bonus depreciation deduction (($60,000 - $25,000) X 50%) @ $17,500 1st year Depreciation Write-Off (($60,000 - $25,000 - $17,500) X 20%) @ $3,500. Potential total year depreciation of $25,000 + $17,500 + $3,500 = $46,000 Buying X5 on or after Jan 1, 2013 (Bonus Depreciation will end on Dec 31 2012 unless extended by Congress) if bonus depreciation expires and you buy a heavy SUV in 2013, you'll be able to deduct only $27,500 of the cost the first year, instead of $40,000 -- $12,500 less. Other Discounts: X5 Holiday Credit - $1500 Team USA Credit $1000 (May work, must have been participated in TeamUSA event during Olympic Season). + Dealer Discounts. I have decided to wait for all new X5 releasing in 2013. yes, i am going to lose some tax benefits PLUS holiday discounts...but can't help it. Anyone like me out there? |
