Extended warranty coverage/N54 oil filter housing leak

I have an '08 335i N54 MT with oil cooler and it looks like I have the common oil filter housing leak. Two years ago, I purchased the BMW Powertrain Plus 6/100 extended warranty (for about $2k), and they told me it covers all engine related issues, including injectors and turbos. Apparently they've revised the coverage and the "new" Powertrain Plus warranties no longer cover as much, but that's not really a factor for me. At any rate, I brought the car into the dealer this morning and the service advisor told me he would "check" but this probably isn't covered. He will circle back later today. Very surprising to me. Of course I can replace this gasket myself instead of spending $1k +/- at the dealer, but this is the reason I purchased the warranty in the first place. So my questions are:
- Does anyone have any experience with having this issue covered under extended warranty?
- Any successful tactics coaxing these folks to cover marginal issues?

Have you read the details of the contract? I don't have experience with this warranty, but I cannot imagine this issue not being covered. Unless I saw it specifically excluded in the contract I would raise some serious hell all the way up the chain if they try to say it's not covered. The dealer really has very little incentive to deny coverage. They get paid by BMWNA for doing the work.

While true, the labor rates and book time are different according to my SA. Dealers put a fair bit more money in their pockets if the customer pays vs. BMWNA. So strand strong on either it's warranted or you take it elsewhere, don't let them think you'll pay if BMW won't.

It's possible my SA was lying but I have no reason to think he was.
