2006 530i Trunk won't open
I am growing very dissapointed and quite frankly nervous to drive my car. Aside from
the two craked rims and getting stranded due to frequent battery discharge, now I have my trunk letting me down at the worst possible time. I was at my lunch break and I had placed my hard hat and safety glasses in my trunk. I ate and when it came time to get them out nothing, this never happens to me so I turned on the car, pushed the trunk release and nothing, I pushed the key fob button and nothing. So eventually I went up to the roof to get my key. I got it open but it wouldn't shut close so I adjusted the spacers and it finally shut. Do you guys think this could be because I never registered my battery and it could be messing up my electrical components?

IMHO, not registering new battery wouldn't cause this kind of problem. We shouldn't attribute everything in the kitchen with not registering the battery :-) |

I am having the same problem
My 2006 530i is going through the same problem. My trunck won't open using the button on my key, so I have to take the hidden Key out of the fob use it on the trunk lock. once it is opened using the Key, the trunk won't close, UNLESS I push the trunk release button under the dash, it seems to reset the lock and the trunk will close. The dealer said it was the lock component sticking, I had it replaced and it still does the same thing. Is there another way to correct this it gets rather annoying. I hope I made my point clear? any advice on how to correct this would be appriciated.
