I am selling 2011 550 xdrive . I will likely take it to dealer. How do I know if their offer is fair. I have recieved 2 so far. 47k and 48,500. Less than 20k miles. Great condition.

Take it to CarMax and see what they offer, if one is in your area.

Use carmax as a baseline for "take no less than"
You can also go onto autotrader.com and get a quote to sell the car; another measure to use vs. what the dealers offer. Are you buying another car, or soley getting rid of this one? If buying another one, be sure to check the sales tax implications of trading vs. selling separately. In some states the sales tax owed on the car you buy is reduced if you're trading. i.e. a $30,000 trade in value would reduce the sales tax by $2,400 if your rate is 8% |
