Got hit and dipped today

We were at a stoplight, even the guy and his daughter behind me. All of sudden, he hits the gas. Causing a somewhat bump enough to move my car forward (foot still on the brake) . I got out and look at the damage which was minor and everyone is cool. So I asked him to go to the gas station to exchanged insurance and info which is right passed the light intersection due to a minor issue and not hold up traffic. In my mind I was going to pull out my phone to catcha quick pic of his license plate, because well , I dont want to judge a book by its cover. Well as soon as I cross the intersection, he made a quick right at the light and dipped as if he just robbed a bank. I turned around and traffic was bad so off he go.

Conclusion: I was upset and so is my wife and mother in law that was in the car. But after we cool off, I just forgive that person and moved on with my day. No one was hurt, bumper creased and scratches (who knows how the inside of the bumper beam looks like. He probably didn't have insurance or drivers license is suspended. I wouldn't get a dime from him anyways, and he would get fined or go to jail. Spend time with your family this holiday season and buy your daughter that ipad 6 that you could have paid outta ya pocket bro, is what came to my mind.

You are a bigger man than me. Not sure what else you could do given the situation you described, but I'd still be steaming ticked off!!!

Trust me, I was about to go on the wrong way traffic ifI was alone due to a big concrete median. But it wasnt worth it.

LoL , sure I will change/update as I get things fix along the way. Recently fixed a waterpump. Once I hit 100k I will be a bmw technician.

There are assholes out there and SOMETIMES there is no need to let them

I too was rear-ended by a driver last Sunday. To her credit? she stopped and we exchanged info and I got a new bumper and rear air diffuser out of it. And she was quite cute to boot (was with my wife) which I guess made it less annoying?

Anyway, I feel your pain but don't worry, doesn't look like it was anything serious enough to constitute any under bumper/foam padding damage.

And I don't know what your deductible is but thats what we have insurance for... My replacement was all-in around $1,750.

Keep your cool and you'll live to rev another day, thats what I always say (just kidding, obviously just made that up).
