Engine emergency
I was installing Lux H8 V3 bulbs into my car and while i was finishing the installation I dropped the light compartment cover into the engine bay. I have searched where I thought it had fallen but I can not find it. So the question is, what and how can i remove the plastic skid plate on the bottom to get it back, should I just order a new one, and will it be save to drive with the cap missing roaming on the bottom of the car?

Take out the screws holding the bottom cover on. Its very light & easy to remove/install. Might give you a good chance of recovering the part. Don't think I would drive around with a piece of plastic in contact with all that hot metal.

The under body cover is held on by a bunch of 8mm screws, about 22-24 IIRC. A couple of the screws are actually on the side of the wheel well housing and may not be readily apparent.
You'll have to put the car up on jacks (or on a lift if you're lucky!). Use a power screwdriver or a drill bit adapter in an electric drill to make it a lot easier to unscrew/rescrew them. You may be able to start at the front and remove enough screws to pull the cover down and hopefully the light cover will slide down the cover to the front. Good luck!

THANK YOU for the replies. I took your guy's advice by unscrewing the skid plate and it worked. Luckily for me the cap was right near one of the cracks and i only had to remove a couple screws to fit my hand in. I didn't have a jack or lift so I had to crawl under the car haha but I am glad it's over. I'll post pics after i finish everything I'm doing. Thank you again for the help and suggestions.

Yea they were a pain to install. You need small hands to be able to get in there comfortably. It took longer than i expected cus of the light cap but i love em so far. Already got a compliment and they've been installed less than 24hrs.
