What is this inside my fog lens? How do I clean

I noticed this foggy smoking stain inside my fog lens. Not sure what is this as I bought the car used. Anyone have this issue on their car?

It looks sort of like condensation. If so, you likely have a bad seal between the glass and the frame. You should open it, let it dry thoroughly and check the seal.

It also looks sort of like a deposit from a defective lamp. Does it still illuminate?

Yeah it works. Maybe previous owner replaced the bulb. How do I remove it to clean?

Pull the plastic grille out next to the fog light and unscrew the fog light assembly. Remove the bulb connector and then the bulb, blow in some hot air with a hair dryer and reverse the process to put it back together. Below is a you tube video showing you how to take off the grille and foglight, good luck.

It's no use. It is most likely the rubber seal that is cracked. I took both off a few weeks ago, cleaned and allowed to air dry, but once I took the car to the carwash they got foggy again. I've since learned to live with it.

This seems like smokey material from a bad bulb honestly. It's not fog. I'll take it a part over the weekend.

It could be seal or it could be just not tightened enough. I replaced mine with led and later had the condensation, so I tightened and it'd all good.

so i finally took it out and cleaned it but it seems like it was some fume marks. i was able to clean it enough using baby bottle cleaner and inserting it from the open hole for bulb. i couldn't get the entire lens out. not sure how to open it up from sides. its a little clean but not good enough.
i put it back.
how did you guys clean it? took the entire lens out from the socket? how did you get in to wife the front glass (its plastic i think)
