So is there "explanation" for the blurry 3D? Do actual 2013 MY folks have the same experience on their maps?

How do you even activate the 3D view from the 2013 Nav? Haven't been able to get it to show up like that on mine yet.

Would this work on a 2011 335d w/ iDrive? I used the DVD method to upgrade to 2012 maps.

Just a quick update and feedback on my updating experience...

Whole pre-update experience was super smooth (thanks to shawnsheridan!)...FSC, payment, code turnaround (like 5 minutes), etc...super smooth

Download, unrar, extract img, pull out files, format thumb drive, copy necessary files...no sweat, standard stuff

Update...as planned, plugged in, recognized, prompted for code, couple attempts to enter needed (mostly user error, iterations of 0 vs. O, etc...) but once I got it right update started...took about 40 minutes as others have stated...system prompted to reboot itself...no issues with reboot

Now, once it was done, here are my impressions after the update.

Whereas before navigation was available immediately after dismissing the disclaimer, i now see a BMW wallpaper/logo for a few seconds when i start the car, followed by the disclaimer, and if i dismiss the disclaimer right away, i got a "Navigation is starting up" (or something like that) screen that lasts a few seconds. All in all, all is smooth, no issues at all, i just feel like the whole thing takes a lot longer to start up initially when the car is turned on; for reference i've been through many car starts/shut-off's today so i don't think it's something related to the "first time"...looks like this is the new normal (longer initialization time).

Can anyone concur that this is their experience as well?

Bikie, I didn't have any issues following the procedure with my Mac using unrarx. I double clicked the .img to mount the file and dragged the necessary files to my FAT32 formatted USB.

Thanks Shawn for the quick responses.

Hmm..on my 2011 F10, using both 2011 and 2012 Maps, mine has always displayed the Starting Navigation Message for maybe the 1st 20 seconds or so when first starting the car. I don't notice any difference with the 2013 Maps.

I get that too. I have a new 2013 with NAV, so perhaps that's what the new systems/versions do?

Except as I just wrote, my 2011 F10 with CIC does the same, and always has, so the new NBT is no different in this regard.

Well the Primary Server, which hosts much, much more than just Maps is taking a beating at the moment.
