BMWConfig - Bimmerfest

I am sure I am missing something very simple. I cannot type in a model in BMW Config where it says "Type in your model". I have tried on my mac with Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome. When you bring up the web page, it randomly chooses a vehicle, but when I click in the box, you cannot enter the vehicle you want. I refresh the page, and it changes vehicles. What am I missing?

This may sound silly but are you starting with the year?

Nothing is silly. I feel like I haven't ever used the web when I am on this site!

I cannot type anything in the box- year, model, etc.

I finally was able to use by using the search button for the model I wanted, which brings up an article about the car, which has a link to use the configurator. I am sure there is an easier way.

The site uses Silverlight so.... maybe check out if you have the latest version? Not sure how to troubleshoot it.

I've seen the problem that you are having. I think it is caused by the M$ Silverlight application that BMW Config uses. Try updating that, and see if it helps.

If it doesn't, send me a PM with your car and the options you want and I'll send you back the output.

I've had that issue as well with a similar setup. Make sure you have the latest version of Silverlight and try quitting Chrome and opening it and reloading bmwconfig several times. Usually on the second or third try it lets me use the site properly.

They should really consider updating that site with HTML5.

BMWConfig on Chrome on Mac does not work well; keyboard input does not work. Safari, however, does. I believe this is a known bug.
Updating Silverlight for Safari is, most likely, your best option.
