Navigation: Entering destination address

I have a new 2012 750i. When I enter a destination address I first must enter the city. Then I enter a street name. At that point, instead of letting me enter an address it gives me a list of unrecognizable options to select from. Some of the options allow the specific address and some don't. So, I have to try the options one at a time until I get the right one. To make it worse, each time I chose a wrong one I have to start over. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice? Thanks

I know exactly what you're talking about. The Nav is not the most user-friendly thing out there. My suggestion is that you enter the address on Google Maps and send it to your car (retrieving it through BMW Assist>Messages). However, you still have to be careful to make sure the address gets interpreted correctly. On a few occasions the North/South or East/West or Avenue/Street/Blvd. got misinterpreted and I ended up on the wrong side of the street. Also, unfortunately, sending information from Google Maps to your car only works on a desktop/laptop computer. I haven't gotten it it work on my Android and iPad. Aside from these little quirks, using Google Maps is the easiest way (at least for me) to use the Nav.

I too have the same problem; you're not alone. Most annoying is the lag/delay when typing the name of a street, town, etc., when the system randomly/automatically jumps to a list of suggestions. Unfortunately, due to the lag/delay, you don't realize it's about to jump the list of suggestions and continue to spell out the name of a street, town, etc. when you're unknowingly selecting the first entry on the list of suggestions – which is not what you wanted to select – and have to go back, only to start all over again! Best advice is to slow down and wait after each character typed, which is VERY annoying. Least the system could do would be to recall where you left off!
