LCI 550i Steering grinding noise?

Recently i've noticed that my LCI 550i with EPS makes sort of a grinding friction noise when I am turning the wheel while the car is stationary or trying to park. I don't hear anything when the car is moving. It seems more pronounced turning to the right. Anybody else have this issue with their F10? The sound isn't very loud but you notice it when the radio is off.

Alan

Yes, it is a low grinding noise that is most present when the car is first turned on. I've had it to the dealer twice to fix the problem, in both cases they were at least able to replicate the problem. They've replaced some sort of rack component and then lubed it up the next time. Car is going back soon enough, so I haven't been to worried about it.

And before he comes in, yes Ahmadddddd, I know I should lemon it.

It probably is the calipers. Have then checked, cleaned and lubed. This solved the problem for me on my 2013.

Mine makes the noise regardless of how long its been driven.

Calipers? I just can't see how turning the wheel and the calipers would affect one another. I will try to see if it makes the noise with my foot on the brake and off.

Car made the sound with the stock 351M wheels as well as aftermarket.

I personally never ever turn my wheels while stationary, and certainly not while stationary and my foot on the brakes.
I'm thinking of all the wrenching forces on the tires, brakes, suspension and stearing components. I know, I'm probably a bit neurotic about this.

Anyway, could it just be the tires grinding over the ground surface?

+1. My wife, OTOH, is not with the program.
