18" vs 20" wheels & tires

I am thinking to get '10 CPO. I really like Active Roll Stabilization and M sterling wheel, so I am looking for one with M-package. M-package also comes with 19" or 20" wheels and all of the car around here have 20".

In general I like 20" wheels, but since BMW doesn't have spare and I do drive long distance , so I would have to have run flats. From what I can see there are total of 2 tires available for 20" wheels, Goodyear Excellence and Pirelli P Zero, and given that Excellence are touring I see P Zero are as the only option. P Zero are rated as 220 UTQG which means that I'll be changing them every 20K miles and I really don't like this idea.

Am I missing something about tires and there are more options or do you guys just stick with Pirelli P Zero and change them every 20K (slightly more than once a year for me)?

Or, should I just forget about M package and get 18" where I would be able to use say Potenza RE960AS?

either in 18s or 20s, the 7 will eat tires fast due to its weight. my 18s where halfway bald at 8000miles if i remember right. now, my 20s are wearing just as much.

It can depend on the roads, and how you drive as well. How are the roads in PH? Do you drive with a heavy foot?

That seems like abnormally short tread wear for 18s, with meatier tread, than the 20s.

our roads are just as good as any other concrete road around the world

18s dont have meatier tread, the tire has a higher sidewall but all tires regardless of size have the same tread depth from new. also, wear doesnt depend on tire size but on the treadwear rating..whether a tire has a hard of soft compound.

my 18 Dunlop Sp SportMaxx GT rft wore halfway bald at 8000miles and my current 20" Goodyear Excellence rft wear just as much.
