I have the Alpine White sunroof combo. Looks fine to me. Given the position the sunroof is more for the rear seat passengers than the driver as far as seeing things goes. I wanted it so I could pop it open and vent the car in the summer.

We have the white X1 with sunroof and it looks fine. We even opted for the stock black rails, which provides even more contrast to the white.

It also adds to the feeling of spaciousness when the inside sleeve is open. AW with black contrast like Perlova said is a good look. I would go for it.

I have a 2006 X3 with the panoramic sunroof, and I simply love it. It makes the car feel much more spacious inside, and it will definitely help with resale value. Personally, I wouldn't buy a car without a big sunroof. Even the next-generation VW GTI is coming with a panoramic sunroof similar to the current Audi A3 and the X1. I think these things are becoming the new normal, so I would definitely get it on your X1.
