runs fantastic. of course this is after i did the valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, fuel filter, heater hose, hood release cable and fan clutch in the 6 months i've had it. PO did a suspension overhaul, cooling system overhaul and clutch. the right rear window regular is done though, gotta do that next

Arrrgg.. I drove 3 1/2 hours to bring the car back home. Then, I turned around, and head down to my mechanic friend, 30 minute drive, and it started overheating when I hit traffic. He is pretty convinced its the fan clutch though, so tomorrow, I am going back to do the fan clutch and the thermostat.

Wow! There are lots of low miles out there. I have a 2003 530i now with 94k. Gotta get rid of my camry and get another one. Maybe a 540it if I can find a good one.

99 528i runs and drives just like new with 118,000 Between 95 and 100K I overhauled the cooling system, rebuilt the front end, replaced the oil filter housing gasket, vcg and VANOs seals, replaced the plugs, flushed the brake system and replaced the hoses, flushed the power steering and replaced the fluid, replaced the secondary air valve and hoses, and replaced the throttle body boot.

I am the second owner. The original owner was an elderly attorney that seldom drove the car. I got the car with 23,000 miles in July of 2011. It now has 29,883 miles.

249,000kms on my touring, likes a bit of oil (always has),abs control unit ,coilpacks, rear suspention links recent failure parts.
Been to dealers and been ripped ,do my own work largely, when you sort the internet bs about these cars they are BETTER than many say.
If you don't pay too much for one you can budget in for repairs later, enjoy.

2001 540i 130010 miles.

Gotta do my front thrust arm bushings soon.
If I do the valve covers, VANOS seals, belts, and timing chain guide and tensioner I will be good for many more years to come.
