Do you have the sport struts and shocks you MUST use with the lowering springs?

I'm mostly just curious if he actually thinks someone will trade a desirable part with value for his throwaway parts.

Judging from his other questions/threads, he doesn't even have enough money to buy a quart of Dexron III, but he wants to trade the very same parts just about everyone else gets rid of for some lowering springs...and then will run his stock-length struts and shocks until it beats them to death and/or tears his upper mounts to bits. I guess he'd park the car then, because if he can't afford a quart of oil, he dang sure can't afford replacement shock/strut mounts, let alone the right shocks and struts.

Hatterer4, save your parts, save your money until you can BUY the right stuff, OK? You're trying to mod/upgrade your car with a zero dollar budget. Ain't gonna work. Ask for money for Christmas and birthday and save it until you can buy what you need.

Ken is saying that if you don't do the lowering properly then you will end up costing yourself even more that you cannot afford when you blow your current stock springs and struts. They are NOT designed to work with lowering springs and will fail prematurely.

There's never enough time or money to do it right the first time, then you've no choice but to do it again at twice the cost.

If I were you, I'd focus my money on getting the car in perfect running condition before I worried about lowering it. It's not expensive to do and will be worth it in the long run.

By the time you are done with most of it you will hopefully be making more and buy some upgrades.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnd *IN* before teh lock....

srsly tho, part of teh benefit of the forum is there are guys that have done just *exactly* what you are trying to do (minus the trade aspect...) and have found out (because they didn't listen) the hard way how it is supposed to be done.

please, if you don't believe us, google it.

or go to ebay....i'm certain you'll find great parts there and not waste your money...

besides, i didn't see anyone being rude or abrasive except you in this thread. we don't have a moderator (per se) in this forum because i believe we do a very good job of self policing. if you're gonna be a jerk about things, then you'll simply be getting ignored in the future.

and we're a patient lot. if ya doubt us, just remember we keep chad around just for the sheer fun of watching him self torture with audi and rovers....

(ok, it's really so the randy's can grow up and think that their daddy was a somebody......)
and not buy audis

annnd I went from this stock ugly semi 4x4

to this dropped, contours and some other goods

You cant ball on a budget. Save up for some rokkor or racelands and new mounts then you can drop your car dude no need to assume anybody is on your dick when theyre just trying to help

if you wanna slam the hell out of your car with stock struts/shocks. this is a bmw. do it right. and enjoy the ultimate driving machine.

Actual dialogue of a former WordPerfect Customer Support employee with a caller:

Customer Support: "Ridge Hall computer assistant; may I help you?"

Caller: "Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect."

CS: "What sort of trouble?"

C: "Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away."

CS: "Went away?"

C: "They disappeared."

CS: "Hmm. So what does your screen look like now?"

C: "Nothing."

CS: "Nothing?"

C: "It's blank; it won't accept anything when I type."

CS: "Are you still in WordPerfect, or did you get out?"

C: "How do I tell?"

CS: "Can you see the C: prompt on the screen?"

C: "What's a sea-prompt?"

CS: "Never mind. Can you move the cursor around on the screen?"

C: "There isn't any cursor, I told you, it won't accept anything I type."

CS: "Does your monitor have a power indicator?"

C: "What's a monitor?"

CS: "It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV. Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on?"

C: "I don't know."

CS: "Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that?"

C: "Yes, I think so."

CS: "Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's plugged into the wall."

C: ".......Yes, it is."

CS: "When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one?"

C: "No."

CS: "Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and find the other cable."

C: ".......Okay, here it is."

CS: "Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely into the back of your computer."

"I can't reach."

CS: "Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is?"

C: "No."

CS: "Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way over?"

C: "Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle - it's because it's dark."

CS: "Dark?"

C: "Yes - the office light is off, and the only light I have is coming in from the window."

CS: "Well, turn on the office light then."

C: "I can't."

CS: "No? Why not?"

C: "Because there's a power outage."

CS: "A power... A power outage? Ah, Okay, we've got it licked now. Do you still have the boxes and manuals and packing stuff your computer came in?"

C: "Well, yes, I keep them in the closet."

CS: "Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from."

C: "Really? Is it that bad?"

CS: "Yes, I'm afraid it is."

C: "Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them?"

CS: "Tell them you're too stupid to own a computer."

The moral of this story is............don't make us tell you you're too stupid to own a BMW. No one in this forum has any need or motivation to give you bad advice. A few of us have been fixing or modding cars since YOUR PARENTS were children. You can either choose to take advantage of the wealth of experience available here or go it on your own, but don't expect us to not give you a boat load of "I told you so" if you choose to learn the hard way.

Your best bet is to sell the lights on eBay. You will probably get around $50. Then you can buy the right transmission fluid and a pump.

Also Hatterer4 what happened? I do not remember you being so bad before.

We have mods, they're just very much out of sight and give us a lot of freedom. It's worked very well for us.
