WTB e34 540 6 speed

Interested in any e34 540i 6 speed car. color, mileage, shape doesnt matter. Certified mechanic, and well familiar with the e34's.

Used to own one and regret selling it. Looking for a low budget project car.

Thanks

Monsignor, i believe imae34driver means M-sport 540i 6speed, that was regular 540i 6 speed by what i saw.
But yes they are out there.
I have a question about the M-sport, sorry if its out there, never googled it.
But i have seen 2 M5 up for sale, why are they not V8? That is strange to me, if it is m-sport, why not put the largest engine in it from the series?

I mean any e34 540i/6 is rare " especially an m sport!! Only 150 ish of 200ish were MT so extra rare.. I have seen one other than mine and its an m sport.. Owner of a bmw shops DD

" I would never say there not out there.. Of coarse theres a few.. None around me, if he just found one in your state and at that price.. Id thank him a go BUY it ASAP..

All the e34 M5's were 6 cylinders.. 3.6 or 3.8l producing 340-360hp Respectively.
S38 is the motor designation it has ITB's and is a far more advanced engine.. Race breed

The m60 is amazing but all though it makes more TQ at 289 BHP the 360 HP of the S38 pulls away as you go on.. 360hp was a lot back then!!!!

If you see real M5's with a v8 its an e39 M5 , 394 hp w/ 6 speed from our 540

This is all on memory, those who know more or differently please correct me.

Also, im sorry i read your question wrong..

Why is the m sport v8 but not the //M..

The M sport was produced in the years the M5 were absent.. The 540i/6 and m sport version of it was sold only in 1995 in the US and 94-95 else where in the world.. to to cover the gap of the e34 M5 that ended in 1993...

US got roughly half of all the 6 speeds.. 1,577 RHD i believe. No wagons

BMW was so impressed with the 540i/6 they figured it was so fast they did not need an M5 anymore.. That is why unit the assault from mercedes/jaguar amg/type R 380hp hp that BMW decided to make the e39 M5 and give it the 400hp s62 v8 ("394hp") and our 540i /6 trans!!!

Basically in 95 if you wanted a new M5 you got a 540i/6 since it was top model..

And to be clear. M sport is a sport version of a i series car..

//M cars are a separate entity.. Were hand built.

Like the difference between amg package and an AMG..

Ones got wheels and other garnish , ones actually got 500hp

Once again, i did not fact check it all.. I may be slightly wrong in some way..

i have 1995 e34 540i 6spd in California. i guess its m-sport as interior, brakes are from M. clean title. Magnaflow exhoust and 166*** miles on it. i would consider selling it just for a very reasonable price.

Theres a guy My brother knows in Austin with the only white ///M540i/a they made they only made about 64 of the auto version. He wanted to trade it and a e34 540i/6 wagon with a rebuilt 4.4L engine for my bro's e39 540it/6. Problem is the ///M has a blown head gasket. My brother didnt want to lose his baby so the guy I bought my tranny from in Dallas is gonna get the car and restore it.

I am not asking anything yet, as I very love my car, and I haven't thought about selling it yet. Its rare black on black. I just would thing about selling if you give me a good offer. I saw a car like that for $12000 dollars. I think its too much for that car but it was the same car I have. I live in Sacramento.

searchtempest.com, put in bmw 540 and see what comes up.
However it's probably good to check out the various forums for anyone unloading one.
I've also seen a few being parted. Good luck
