Black kidneys on Mineral Gray? Whaddya think?

Anyone have any pix?

I love the black kidneys on lighter colors like white or silver, but not so sure about darker colors like the mineral gray (my car) because there's less contrast.

Thoughts?

Thanks

It comes down to personal preference. If you like contrast, stick with what you have.

I'm thinking the same thing. I thought I made up my mind with black sapphire and sport line. But now I'm thinking it's too black. Even the exhaust pipe extensions are black.

I really like Glacier Silver with the sport line much better now.

I also think that black sapphire looks fantastic if you go with the luxury line.

My e90 was silver, so I'm not sure I want another silver car. I am now sort of leaning towards black sapphire with the luxury line.

I haven't rule out Melbourne red and sport line either.

I'm not a big fan, mainly because of the headlamp 'bridges' that run from the lights to the grilles. Because they remain chrome, the black grill looks a bit out of place. Also, my opinion, the darker colors need some 'pop' from the likes of chrome whereas more black just detracts.

I find this particular setup looks imbalanced.

There needs to be balance. I wouldn't classify the luxury line as having too much chrome and certainly it isn't in the same category as grandpa's Cadillac.

BJ,
Thanks for the photos but I have to disagree. I think the gray with black grills looks sick. Maybe not classy or balanced but very sporty and aggressive. I guess it just depends on what look you prefer.

I like the look of the car that BJ has posted. If it's possible to black out the chrome in the lights, it would look even better, IMHO.

That's the problem with the black grills on all F30's. It makes the headlight bridging to the grill look very out of place.

The problem with black grills on dark F30's including Mineral Grey is that it dulls down the contrast and looks like a mistake.

You'd best stay away from Bergen County because if I see your car I will whip out a can of Krylon silver and paint your rims the way they should be painted.
