Hi

I would like to retrofit the TPMS System on my car.

Was someone already able to do it? Or could someone point me to the parts i need?
And maybe also what needs to be done?

Thank you all for every help

Hi yes I did it.

First job is to get the 4 sensors and the control unit. Use realoem to find the part numbers then scour ebay. I paid $40 for the control unit for my car. And about 3 times that for the sensors.

Next job is to work out the wiring. You need to pick up the CAN bus. and power and ground.

You will need Rheingold for sure. Have you got it? Use that to find out where you need to connect to. I already had powered bootlid so CAN bus was nice and close.

Keep us posted!

Hi pow216

What is the build date of your car? Because pre 09/2010 cars had a different system in the US, where you had 4 sensors in the wheels, 4 receiver and one Module. So I'm worried if the system with 4 sensors and 1 Module will work.

CAN will be easy as it is in the trunk.
Do I need to keep the modul outside under the rear bumper or can I place it also in the trunk?

Did you have to code your car?

Thank you for your help.

You're right about the 4 receiver version I think. That one looks a pain to fit. My build date was 10/2011.

I would say you definitely need to put the module in the correct place. The system uses rotation direction to tell left from right and signal strength to tell front from back, moving the receiver, especially putting it inside a metal structure could prevent the system from working.

I will get back with some links later tonight.
