Will this succeed? LV Air to Launch in 2013
While I think it's admirable to want to start an airline, I see a lot of problems, the first being that $35 million isn't enough to start an airline that's going to run wide-bodies with very high-end first- and business-class cabins.
What does everyone else think? LV Air to Launch in 2013 Quote:

Will be surprised if they even launch. I've seen many announcements like this through the years and if world-class airlines like SQ have trouble filling an all F/J frame, then a Mom and Pop with a few 767's to a leisure destination with pitiful O & D traffic will never exist. The RASM - CASM = profit equation never enters the minds of armchair CEO's who put a plan together all to have it fail. $35 mil may help secure leases on a couple of 767 rustbuckets, but the overhead involved in FAR Part 121 (I assume) flying will likely strip the company of more than $35 mil for stuff just on the ground.
However... If I were the CEO of LV Air, I would partner with a travel company out of China/SE Asia and bring high rollers from Chinese/Other Asian urban centers to Sin City.

Allegiant built a business centered largely on charters for Casinos flying inexpensive surplus MD-82s and 83s. Dunno if there is room for a underfunded competitor.
