2002 BMW X5 3.0i - Transmission failsafe mode prog

Hey I have a 2002 BMW X5 3.0i I was driving the car for about 2 hours in snow after the 2 hours I was doing donuts in my car after I got a check engine light and ( transmission failsafe mode prog ) the car does not shift 1st and 2nd gear only, 3rd and 4th and 5th gear shifts fine, I checked out a video on YouTube how to program the transmission failsafe mode I did the reset and the car is the same think can anyone please help me know what's wrong with my car
