Cooling System

Okay go to the link I sent you and look at the very first pic.. thats the new one.. the part under the tab, the cylinder thing that goes in the motor.. on the old ones it's much smaller.. I thought they were wrong.. I called dealer and they said no, just newer technology had to change the shape but it's fine.

Own my own business so will have to see what jobs pile up tomorrow but I'll remind myself to call in morning and place order.. will probably be in around 12-1 so anytime from then on would be fine.

OK, HERE is the main update:
Ran my car for 2hrs, drove to my garage where it's dark, put my uv glasses and magical flashlight CONFIRMED the problem of this thread!!!
Very tiny leak from fking wheep hole!!! Tiny!!! But I inserted cotton ear swab in the wheep hole and it was soaked in coolant!!!! Fk!!!it only leaks at high temps!!! Only!!!
I cannot explain how pissed I am, bc last 3 weeks with this unknown problem it gave me valve cover gaskets leak both sides, killed 3 coils!!! FK! Pressure test came out perfect!
Everyone here who doesn't have 105-aux fan-103 and lower hose is less than 65- you do have internal leak which is very tiny external for now. The worst problem is that it won't necessarily even brake to that point where you'll be loosing tons of coolant!!!! This problem kills the engine and tranny!!!

I know exactly where the weephole is on the water pump but I never really wasted my time looking for the one on engine, as I never had anything leaking.. I think I know where it is, but if you could tell me or show a pic I will go check mine.. I will insert Q-tip and check.

Behind tstat 5mm hole, you won't see a leak but when you insert qtip you have to remove the fan clutch.

It's much easier with uv leak detection: clean and perfect

First it leaks inside, later it goes outside, but most likely you already have very tiny leak or just teardrops that you won't notice without uv

I have only an electric fan on inside of radiator, no clutch.

Drove my car for 200mls. With new tstat it idles at 96-98, driving is 99-100C max, no coolant loss, lower hose is hot, but I think if I fix that leak it'll run even cooler. Yep tstat "fixed" or patched the problem))
Ps. My tstat was original 2002!!! Same for wp- it lasted 160mls!!!
If you install this tstat ASAP your car will last 300k mls

Yes I too would be interested in knowing.. I was thinking that this lower tstat would patch the issue for now too.. The problem only seems to be happening when the car gets to 105 and hotter, then it seems to loose the battle.. I figured the lower tstat would possibly avoid the whole issue.. I don't understand what you mean though, What about a 2002 tstat? Are you saying that is what we need, or what you used all along? Or are you talking about the one you made? Thanks.

Ok I don't know if its in the topic? But are we sure that these cars don't run high? Is 105c too high? I'm trying to find where it said that's too high? Can anybody tell me where can I read that this temp is to high for these car. I had a 89 jeep and it ran 221-230FNo problem and I also drive a GMC 2012 that shows 215F. And this is a new truck. I called my dealer but of cause to talk with a live person you need to leave a VOice message:-))

It may not be TOO hot but it is VERY hot, and the cars with almost identical engines that ran at 85-95c didn't have all the leaking and valve seal problems as our motors do.. same motor, different temp. that says ALOT to me.

If you're ok with every single gasket leaking in this engine after 5 yrs, and later you get valve stems smoking plus tranny failure- so may be its ok to buy 70k car and trash within 3-5 yrs.
95 tstat does its job pretty well, but still lower hose is only 60C- much better but still it means the cooling is not very efficient even though its 96-99 max. Gotta fix the pipe soon. 85C is not done yet, plus I wanna make sure DME won't throw errors about this temp.
I need to test Lower temp tstat on normal working car without any leaks, I think it won't get any higher than 96max, just like straight six engines.
No matter what car you drive it won't last with this high pressure system, unless they use that Evans or smth.
But at least I can tell you that no bubbles in aux wp, the car is very fast, and I can touch upper hose after 1hr driving and squeeze it without burning my fingers

Is there anyone with a 750 that has this same problem.

I have the 750. I just changed the cooling pipe for the bimmier pipe kit. No leaks since then. I'm just confused on what's the temp???? I'm not going to spend money on something that's not broken? If I can bring down the temp with lil money spend then ill do it. My car just hit 90k runs strong no leaks on valves covers. Or and tranny problem.. Just when I heard 105??? I check my temp and it hits 105 when I'm stop but when the car moves it drops 100 in city 90-92 hway.
