Cooling System

My seal wasn't bad. I grease up the new one and right in it went

So what do you guys think 90 or 95???
I guess 95 is safer

I think we won't get faults. One error I have is a map tstat fault bc it's disconnected.
I need to drive my car long enough to set those tests completed.

Paper's car runs at 92c and no errors.. 95c shouldn't get errors

I don't understand how it runs at 92C!!! How??? Or his car is the only one leak free???? Or DME version????

He ordered his special order, and it was an early 02.. so maybe it has the cooler tstat, or because it's the gulf equiped one with dual fans they did something else.. dont know.. wish I did. It's got only 60k miles btw.

Nope it's been 105C since 96.
When idling I'm sure it will reach 103 anyways.
Tomorrow I gotta pay them 6600$ incl tax. It's gonna be funny if I end up with 100tstats sitting around lol

Ok what if you disconnect tstat connector???? When will it open?
98 sounds like it opens at 95C!!
Did you do anything to DME??
Somebody from uk mentioned about 98 as well, so there is a better DME software!

And you didn't have many issueS like oil leaks valve cover gaskets etc?

I have not done that , & have no need to do it since my car has
ZERO leaks & is running very cool . I even took my car down to
ALL GERMAN AUTO to have it checked recently when I thought I
might be having a coolant problem . It turned out to be something
miner , So I took the opportunity of being there to have my coolant
system refreshed with all new hose's , along with a few other things
I had done as preventive maintenance .

I'm just curios if DmE opens it up or you do have different tstat. It won't kill your car, just to check if it will drop or not after 98.
Well looks like I was right- the cooler it runs the longer it will be running.
The car is 11 yrs old and no issues it's pretty good sign!!!
Did you have any tranny issues ?? Prob not.
So why they supplied it with European software? Just bc of special order for warmer climate???

I had a very small oil leak ( VALVE COVER GASKET DRIVER SIDE )
maybe a month ago . I had it fixed right away , As a matter fact
instead of just doing the driver side , I had both valve cover gaskets
done & all my timing cover gaskets done .

I have never had any other leaks on my car beside that driver side
valve cover gasket , but like I have stated before I do some preventive
maintenance on my car & I try to stay on top of any potential problems .
Such as the 4 sensors CMPRO mentioned in this topic , I just did those
as preventive maintenance & I just did an ebox fan since I replaced 5 in
the past month in other peoples cars , & I noticed a few people on the
site saying they were doing there's . Funny thing is less then a week after
I did my ebox fan another member on the site came by to have me check
his car with my computer , & his ebox fan was out ( LoL ) . I am also waiting
for my Vanos O-rings to arrive so I can change those . I also just ordered
new coil packs since I haven't done those in about a year & a half . There
are plenty more things I have done to stay on top of maintenance with my car .

Yes all the gasket were still rubber . The leak was on the driver side
where the valve cover gasket meets the timing cover gasket left side
where they meet each other . It was a very small leak , but a leak none
the less .

I've had no need to ever checked my DME version , since I have not
had any issue's with it .

Now the E66 I bought My Ex-fiancee has had no leaks either , But it
did have a new transmission put in it at the dealers cost . Her car has
had other issue's though . Such as Navi , power module , integrated
power supply , Ebox fan , L7 , Ask unit , SVS unit & some other stuff ,
But no leaks that I'm aware of .

You won't end up with 100 because I'm going to buy 2.LOL!Yes I did a lot of research on oil coolers and got them and who didn't.South Africa received them for sure.I got on a forums with those guys and they don't have any of our problems.I could not find a particular tstat but I'm sure there DME opens it a lot sooner and or more.

I've seen one car where DME kept it open all the time, idk why, but no errors!! Well his car was too cold at 70C and aux fan was always on so it killed it.

Hey SF did you ever change your pipe or check your rear plate? Just curious as I still think they may be problem areas.

Not yet. I'm not driving it. Scheduled with my mechanic tomorrow. Decided to pay him vs catching cold

Ps. Not very happy that I had to pay whole thing for tstats. Kinda risky..

Hey just as long there's no error code? And car runs cooler I'm in for 2. And then maybe some more for guys I know that don't know about these problems.

I got 55$ only bc I ordered 100pcs otherwise they won't even do anything. Hmmm do I really look that stupid??? I'm kinda disappointed at this forum ....

So you telling me that they don't know it stact are going to work??? By work? I mean no error codes and the MAIN REASON KEEP THE CAR COOLER.. If they didn't said it could fix any of those problem why buy then?????
