Alternator
Does the same apply with my 645 as a normal car? Take off positive cable on battery if car dies its the alternator?

I would not do that to test the alternator. There are much better ways to test, and the proper tests are free at your local AutoZone / Pep Boys etc...

I have a 545i same alternator but JFYI theses units seem to go bad with the characteristic of on or off.At least mine was the case and I found a very long thread discussing this phenom.

In the morning my car starts up and runs fine but after it warms up after driving around when I turn off than crank back up it runs so rough at an idle it almost cuts off but after start driving its fine, could this have something to do with alternator?
