OBD and OBDII ports
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if a 2002 3.0 Z3 has an engine compartment OBD port as well as the OBDII port in the cabin beneath the steering wheel? I have recently purchased a B800 SRS airbag reset tool which keeps giving me an error E10 when I try to diagnose the fault through the OBDII port. I have read somewhere on the Internet that I should try it through the 20 Pin OBD port in the engine bay. Has anybody else had this problem with the SRS airbag tool? Thanks in advance Last edited by HardcoreZ; 01-27-2013 at 02:35 PM. |

The under-hood 20-pin connector is big and round and is next to the engine over the exhaust manifold. It has a screw-on cap over it. It is completely different from a standard OBD connector, although many of the functions are accessible at it.
