Tires
So I have burned through the tires at last, it only took me about 40,000 miles to do it. Now the issue, what kind of tires do I get to replace them. I live in the foot hills so I need something that corners good, and I do road trips and enjoy playing at the century mark on the speedo. So I need a tire that lasts a while, can put up with mountain roads in hot weather, as well as road tripping. Any thoughts? Oh ya stock 98 740i

Good, Fast, Cheap. It applies to tyres. Go for the most expensive Brand Name you can. Avon, Goodyear, Dunlop, Yokohama (performance bias), Firestone, Continental - I'm sure you get the picture. I run MAXAS on my E38. A bit noiser than some but speed limits here are down anyway.

I run Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Good threadwear (500+) temp-A, traction-AA, and Z rated.

I am looking at the General Altimax HP's. From the reviews they sound good all the way around and the price is really good. Have any of you heard anything about them?
