The FSC's will have to be downloaded as part of loading the apps fsc so I'll get the tech to put them on a USB for me!

The unit will come with the sw on & will require coding to my vin & then the FSC's loading in, I was going to attempt to load them with esys, if not maybe ask Bimmertech to do it, I'm still trying to find out if the FSC's are constructed in the same way for NBT as they are for CIC otherwise it might turn into a REALLY expensive exercise!!!

No, I am pretty sure FSC codes will be identical. If you can salvage yours and reuse them, this retrofit is not bad cost wise.

The folks that did CCC to CIC retrofits, they had no choice but to buy an emulator and or FSC Codes, as there old CCC had no FSC Codes I don't think.

Had a good chat with a Master Tech at BM this morning & he is pretty sure that that the FSC codes are different for the NBT as the units are made by a different manufacturer

I'll believe it only when it is confirmed. Even thought the Head Unit is made by a different Manufacturer, it is made to BMW Specifications, which I doubt changed in regard to the FSC Code.

Does the HU NBT include a 3G modem/phone if it replaces the telematics box?

If you have HU_NBT and:

Option Code: 6NL BMW Assist with enhanced Bluetooth and USB, then it includes a 3G SIM Card in it.

Option Code: 6NK GSM preperation with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, then you have Media only and no Telematics.

They have sort of gone back to the old days by introducing a TCB telematics unit for all the assist functions (this has the SIM card built in) but now rather than having an MULF2 for the USB side they have integrated that into the HU_NBT

Thanks. Only have 6NK and Bmw assist is not availible here in Sweden.

None I'm afraid, ended up returning the car to BMW due to the paint issues so I have a 2013 model coming in 8 weeks.
Better spec'd as well!

Ok. Well congrats on the new 2013 car.
