Coolant leak from intake manifold possible?

I was looking for info on intake manifolds and ran across this report that coolant can leak from intake manifold either externally or internally and may mix with engine oil. http://repairpal.com/intake-manifold...ngine-oil-0552

The intake manifold gasket may develop and external engine oil or coolant leak. In some cases, an internal coolant leak may occur causing coolant to mix with the engine oil. Our technicians tell us that operating the engine with a coolant/oil mix can result in internal engine damage. Replacing the intake manifold gasket should correct these leaks.
Car is a 2005 325ci but has the M54 engine. M54B25

I can't imagine how that would happen as I don't think coolant runs through the intake manifold.

If this is what happened the only thing I can think of is the intake manifold gaskets are leaking and one of the plastic coolant pipes (or their o-rings) under the manifold are leaking and air is getting sucked up through the manifold. But that's not what the link states.

Is what they describe even possible or am I making a mistake thinking the two engines are similar?

Coolant leaks through intake manifold gaskets are common place and hundreds, if not all, types of engines, particularly V engines to get coolant exchange banks. To the best of my knowledge, the BMW L6 does not.
