Can so. It's not all or nothing.

I can also prefer silicon-based glass to polyacrylic plastic for my windshield, metal to carbon fiber for my wheels, and physical knobs to touch screens for my radio. Each new tech brings its own downsides that may make it unsuitable for me.

Slushboxes have real downsides. Cost, weight, and finesse come to mind. Are slushboxes getting better? Sure. Are they better in every way than MT, for my wants? Not yet, and probably never. More likely, they'll both be superseded by some other tech (electric, CVTs) at some point.

Mein Auto: 2011 328i Sedan
For a few months I concurrently owned a 328i and 335i w/ ATs. Havenít had the N54 for 6 months now and not a day goes by I donít miss that old beast. The 328i is no slouch per se but it requires constant effort in the upper RPM ranges where the 335i loafed at around 3000 with the same amount of peddle play imo. I calculated about a 20mph difference between the 2, ie once I got up to 80 in the í28 the í35 would already be rounding 100.

Both have that uniquely BMW connected road feel and supple handling characteristic thatís got me hooked. But if youíre a torque monger the turbo(s) will quench your appetite.

FWIW either version will out run a C300 (:

Right now I have an 02 Camry which has around 157 hp so I think anything will be fast in comparison. I can afford the 328 but the 335 I'd be a bit tight on money. So I'd just like to hear your thoughts.
Given the option, I would go for the 328i RWD with a sport package. Less weight, sporty handling, less maintenance, less $$. But that's me.
