E21, E30 engine compatibility?

There's a cheap E21 323i around the corner, too much work to get roadworthy, but i was thinking of using the engine out of it as i know some models are backwards compatible, like 2002 can fit a 318 E30 head.

Would the E21 head fit my E30 323i?

I can't find anything anywhere.

Have you looked at the part catalogues for both models on http://www.realoem.com

Check the motors. Is yours K-Jetronic or L-jetronic? If you are running a '6' with electronic EFI and you want to swap to a '6' without - you should manage it by the summer; just B 4 your divorce.
