hello i was wondering if someone could give me some advice, I have a 2006 325i, and wanted to swap the engine for somthing else, i was looking at the 06-07 335i engine, does anyone know if this will fit, and if not what would be a good engine to swap it with.

anything other than the stock engine will be very expensive to retrofit. forget the twin turbo N54.
even the engine out of a 330i will be difficult. you would need to find some way to reprogram the car to be able to control the new engine. it is not just a drop in replacement. |

You can change it into 330 without changing engine.
You can change it into 330 without changing engine.(might be worth it)
In other country's they make supercharger kits but its not worth it. What can be done http://www.eurotuner.com/techarticle...25i/index.html http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=35 Engines are very expensive like airplane engines on these. Think 15k for a new engine installed so if you mess with it you are really gambling a lot. Last edited by ctuna; 12-28-2012 at 11:13 AM. |

Random question: is there EVER a time where an engine swap makes sense for E90s?
Every time I've seen this question, the answer has been one of these: No, because swaps are hella expensive. It's cheaper to sell your car and buy another one with the engine you want. No, because it's cheaper to tune the engine to get the numbers you want.
