Need Advice Hooking up Battery Tender

For 2013 550i Xdrive, (taking delivery soon) what is the easiest location to hook up battery tender? I am thinking underhood instead of taking access panel off to get at battery in trunk. But since you would need to prop hood up slightly to get tender wires attached are there any alarms or other sensors I would set off or that would add to power drain if hood is ajar? Thank you

You can have the cables going through the back of the hood/windshield wipers to the engine bay.

Here is a link to a prior posting on this subject;

I hard wired mine and ran the wires out of the bottom right air scoop. The wires push up into the scoop when not in use. You will need to add some length to reach though. The charging nuts come off to reveal studs that the rings go right over.

Doesn't the cigarette lighter work? That's how I have
used my battery tender in all of my cars.

No. The F10 lighters go cold after a short amount of time after the engine is turned off.

I use the post under the red cover and one of the bolts on the suspension, and it has worked fine for me.
