I got the car!

Having been a lurker on this forum for several month, and reading every article about the F30 out there, I finally bought (well, leased) one.

Right before Christmas, I picked up the following:

2012 BMW 328i Sedan (executive demonstrator with 5,700 miles)
- Glacier Silver / Everest Gray
- Sport Line
- Auto transmission
- Premium Package
- Technology Package
- Premium Sound Package
- Heated Seats
- Xenon Lights
- BMW Apps
- Parking Package
- High Beam Assist

Listed for $49,XXX, left for $40,295.00. I leased for 36 months, did the minimal cap reduction, and did max MSDs due to the advice on this forum. In the end, I'm paying $439/mo including tax for 12k miles/year. I was able to lease this car under a new car program because it was never technically sold to a customer. I had a very good experience with the dealership.

I love the car so far. I do have to sell my Audi A3 which is a little sad, however.

The one issue is the trunk opener (using your foot) works maybe one in 20 attempts. Is mine flawed or are all of them like this?

Congrats on the new car! The trunk took me several attempts to properly operate. You do not sweep your foot across the back, but a strait forward kick. Stand about 2 feet directly behind car, kick strait at the car and pull strait back reasonably quickly, it will not recognize a slow kick or sideways kick. Also as an additional note, if you wash your car at a coin wash, sometimes the wand will cause the trunk to open.

Congrats on the new car!

As for the kick, mine worked 80-90% of the time from new. I just had a software update performed at the dealer and its been slightly better (less delay between swipe motion and actual opening of the trunk)...

Congrats! Something my uncle told me after I purchased my f30.

"Well sadly I should have warned you but you've acquired an addiction with no cure"

He wasn't kidding. Enjoy the ride, since it's a lease it will be hard trying to keep the miles down due to the fact that you will want to keep driving.

Thanks! I followed this advise and the trunk is opening every time.

I've had the car for all of 4 days and have put nearly 500 miles on it; eek...

Granted, I've been all over the place because of the holidays.

I've been pretty damn happy with my E90 328xi for nearly six years now. I can only imagine how the addiction becomes even stronger with the delivery of a brand new F30. Mine should be coming in about two months. Can't wait to make the same kind of post here. Congratulations!!!
