Non Combox Units

Anybody out there with a non combox car. I have a march 2010 build which does not give me office and or streaming. Was wondering if anybody has had any software updates and has anybody successfully been retrofitted either by dealer or by a speciality shop? Is it even possible.

Please contact forum vendor BimmerTech, they will provide all that is required for a Combox retrofit to your F10.

I have performed several Bimmertech F10 Combox retrofits so far...

It is possible. I don't want to do it as I will lose SOS capabilities, so I have been told.

It depends... there is a Combox Media (no Telematics) and a Combox Telematics. The Combox Telematics retrofit requires you/a dealer to contact Assist to update your account with the new ESN. They may or may not grant that request, depending on how it is requested.

This have been done already.

Contact Bimmertech for details.

To the warranty question, the answer is "possibly". If they can trace a failure (i.e. in the head unit or screen) to self-work, BMW can choose to void your warranty.

Most auto manufacturers will do this (void warranty) if you mess with anything out of factory spec (that is - how your car was built) -or- beyond any specific work they have/had done.
