F30 Drivers: What is Your Previous Vehicle?

Just curious, what vehicle did you drive, or what are you primarily switching from, before you bought your F30?

(Wait for the poll )

My 335 did not replace anything. I merely added yet another car.

Sold with 54k as it was clear that it was going to become increasingly unreliable.

Loved the looks, loved the interior, loved the car. People use to stop me or honk to ask what it was when it first came out. Based on the interior people thought I paid twice as much as I did.

But wow, what a silly unreliable thing it was. I have owned all kinds of cars, never a water pump before 40k. Not acceptable.

Boring GS and ES 350 Lexus. Nice cars, but they don't hold a candle to the 328i.

Strictly old people's cars...shhhh, my wife is going to be 75 yrs old Jan 30th. Crap, I forgot, I'll be 77 on the 18th!

Love that saddle brown interior in our Bimmer. Lexus has just three choices: Light tan, boring gray and funeral black. Just right for the old folks that love those cars!

That can happen in any car. I had a water pump fail on our '73 Mercedes 350 at around 15,000 miles and it cost quite a bit to replace. The water pump was attached to a beautiful fan shroud casting in incredibly smooth aluminum alloy and I hung it in our living room. Truly, a work of art! My wife objected and after a few months of arguing I finally relented and gave it to a friend (sigh).

We have higher expectations today on a new car vs 30 years ago. At the same time as the waterpump the entire intake manifold had to be replaced. This would have been $2500 including the water pump-parts and labor if not for the warranty. I would also blame 3-4 coils on the higher than stock boost, but it blew coils when completely stock.

185k miles w/ not much of major issues except when I sold it last year w/ transmission problem.
This my first BMW and hoping it to be great and for more of them in the future. Getting the 900 miles and it's feels like it's getting better every time of drive it. Hoping it won't be too expensive to keep it around for 10+ years.

I have driven Jeep Wranglers for the past 8 years so coming from that to my amazing F30 huge difference and needless to say, the handling seams fine to me lol.

My F30 335i xDrive replaced a 2008 535Xi.

I wanted something physically smaller and more agile, but without the harshness of my former 2006 330Xi. I am extremely pleased with my F30.
