just purchased used 2007 335i convert
Hello all-
My wife and i just purchsed a used 2007 335i convert with 47k miles the dealer didn't have any service records so we are looking a potential laundry list of items that shoudl be looked at, are there any items that i may be missing? Any help would be great. 1. Spark Plug Service light, I assume the spark plugs have never been changed 2. Brake fluid flush? 3. Coolant System flush? 4. Automatic Trans flush? 5. Rear Differential 6. Cabin Air filter |

NO service records? You checked a genuine BMW dealer? If really no records, you should find the fish that's creating that smell around your car! |

You have a complex retractable hardtop. I would strongly suggest putting a suitable rubber treatment like Gummi Pfledge on all seals. I would also suggest lubricating all hinge points for the top as well. See the sticky on perserving your top at the beginning of this section. Also at 47K miles I would do a drain of the AFT in this case LifeGuard 6 or Mercon SP and refill.
Mercon SP can be sourced at O'Reilly's and the LG6 at this location for the best price (that I know of anyway) http://www.thectsc.com/index.php?p=p...id=10&parent=0 Yes I would guess plugs need replaced and a good idea to do the coolant flush and diff change as well as a brake flush. I am sure you are aware that intake valves will need cleaned and that the water pump will fail most likely in the next 20K miles or so. I keep a new water pump and tstat in my trunk just in case as I have 58K miles. Welcome from one vert driver to another... |

Nice car. The only other thing I can think of is the serpentine belt, but I don't think they recommend changing that until 60K. I understand that some early e90s had issues with the belt rubbing and breaking prematurely so it might be a good idea to inspect it.

My car is a 3/2007 build date and never had any issue with the serp belt but that might be just luck.
Great car by the way looks excellent... |
