2008 I drive system restarting

Hi i have 2008 320 with i drive system. Everything worked fine. Until the dvd navigation was accidently pressed, it came out and i straight away put it back in. However now the i drive system just keeps on resetting it self by truning off every couple of minutes. I have tried taking out the dvd and putting it back but to no avail. When you take out the dvd the i drive does not reset but as soon as dvd in it just keeps on resetting it self.

Has anyone else had the same issue?

I have a similar problem (2007 iDrive) . The nav doesn't function, and it resets every now and then. Unpredictable. I'm thinking that it's something wrong with the DVD reader, maybe a simple cleaning kit could do the trick, but haven't tried it yet. The CD works just fine
