License plate light LED replacement still throwing error

I have a 2007 650i that was telling me the left license plate light was malfunctioning and it was. I replaced both lights with the Sylvania Zevo 194 bulbs. They both work and are very brought but now the computer shows that both bulbs are malfunctioning. Thoughts?

Welcome to Bimmerfest! I moved your question to the E63 forum.

Are the Sylvania bulbs an exact replacement (LED) or were the stock bulbs incandescent? The LEDs don't draw enough current, so the check circuits reads it as a blown bulb.

The original lamps were incandescent. According to the Sylvania website they were direct replacements but your diagnoses makes sense. That probably explains these.

07s came with regular halogen bulbs so if you replaced with LEDs they draw less current so your car still thinks the bulbs are out, you need to get error free leds or install resistors (i suggest the first) i have the error free ones and they work perfect
