New member with some BMW electrical gremlins
Hello all. I own a 94 540i with some electrical problems. First is my radio quit working so I checked all the fuses and they where all fine. Next i pulled the radio to check the fuse on the back and that was fine so upon plugging in the radio back in I got a message saying CHECK CONTROL SEE OWNERS MANUAL. So i unplugged the radio and the message went away. Im thinking the radio is shot and its time to upgrade to a aftermarket deck. The next electrical dilemma is I have a message saying LOW WASHER FLUID and the tank is full and no fuses are blown also the washer pump is not working I'm not sure if the level sensor and my pump are both bad or the pump wont work when the fluid level in the tank gets low. Sorry for such a long post and any and all help will be greatly appreciated

LMK, look it up
It is a control module in these cars that is responsible for the dash warnings you are receiving. My car likes "brake light circuit", "power steering fluid low", and "self leveling suspension" (which my car does not have) as it's favorites to throw up on the display. The systems reported have always checked out, I ignore those messages. The problem stems from bad connections on the LMK control boards. Some guys go in and touch up solder joints, some replace the LMK (about $60 used) some just live with it.

I think there was a write-up done by shogun on CCM resoldering.
If its not hat then its the offending sensor and its wiring. |
