The brand name is misleading, and this is certainly unfortunate, but a little bit of common sense would've prevented this from happening. 2" of snow over the surface area of that canopy is quite a bit of weight, especially if it was a wet snow. That thing looks like a child's toy.

As far as what to do, you have a few options:

1) Fix
2) Don't fix

I think the BMW gods are punishing you for the use of one-piece headlights.

lol I know everyone hates the headlights, ya is a wet snow got the canopy for Christmas put it up two days ago and look outside and boom things completely collapsed on my car I guess it's a good buy if u live somewhere where there is no snow or wind so sad though should have gone out every 30 mins to get snow off but was involved in intense pool tourney and when I finished it was too late

Yeah, the only thing that kind of canopy is good for is protecting you from direct sunlight.

going to try and contact the company tomorrow and see what they say hopefully they will give me the money back for the canopy as least, pretty weak for an "all weather" canopy though

Hate to break it to you, but you don't have a prayer of collecting anything from the seller or the manufacturer. It clearly states in their warranty "do not allow....snow (among other things) to accumulate on the canopy". It's packaged with the canopy and is also on their website.

From their website:

DO NOT SET UP OR LEAVE YOUR CARAVAN CANOPY ASSEMBLED IN THE RAIN, HAIL SLEET, SNOW, DRIZZLE, LIGHTNING, STRONG WINDS OR ANY HARSH WEATHER CONDITIONS.DO NOT ALLOW WATER OF ANY KIND TO ACCUMULATE ON THE CANOPY TOP.USE TIE DOWNS, STAKES OR WEIGHT BAGS TO SECURE YOUR CARAVAN CANOPY IN WINDY CONDITIONS.ALWAYS FOLLOW DIRECTIONS WHEN SETTING UP YOUR CARAVAN CANOPY. BE AWARE OF HANDS AND FINGERS WHEN EXPANDING OR COLLAPSING FRAME.IT IS RECOMMENDED TO REMOVE CANOPY TOP FROM FRAME AFTER TAKE DOWN. STORING TOP ON FRAME MAY RESULT IN FABRIC TEARS OR OTHER DAMAGE REQUIRING REPAIR OR REPURCHASE.NEVER CLEAN THE CANOPY TOP IN A WASHING MACHINE. SERIOUS DAMAGE WILL RESULT. IF CLEANING IS REQUIRED, WHILE SET UP ON THE FRAME US A LIGHT DETERGENT ON A CLOTH AND GENTLY CLEAN TOP BY HAND, THEN RINSE OFF WITH A GARDEN HOSE.DO NOT USE DETERGENT OR HAND CLEANER IF TOP HAS CUSTOM SILKSCREENED GRAPHICS.ALLOW TOP TO DRY COMPLETELY BEFORE STORING.DO NOT USE YOUR CARAVAN CANOPY AS A PERMANENT SHELTER.

I've had two of the 10'x10' versions of this. Wind ruined both of them. Fortunately no cars were under them when they were flipped over and ripped apart.

ajs7791, not laughing at your bad luck, but I have to chuckle at the photo. For work I take my team to Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona, or White Sands Missile Range in NM, and we treat these and pop up canopies as consumables and budget 3 per day average.
Can't tell you how many times we've seen the wind get under these things and take them for a ride dragging sandbags, weights, you name it with them across the desert.
If one actually makes it through a full day we retire it and give it to one of the local support crew to take home with them because it's a special one.

We definitely prefer going to WSMR over YPG. The high desert is much more scenic than the lowland desert, and at WSMR our test site is only 2 miles from the main base. At at YPG it's a 90 mile drive from Yuma out to our test site.

We've watched weather fronts moving in from the west where we've seen snow falling on the mountain tops, turning to rain at lower elevations, while we were in the sunshine on the valley floor. We had one day back in June where we had to have someone stand dust devil watch there were so many of them popping up near us.

cloudcroft, alamagordo, deming, messia (az),....all over down there. simply loved it. the best part?? imho was being able to see the desert the way it looked when the west was settled. *no* signs of civilization, the stars looked so bright that you could reach out and touch them, and the fact that you could see stuff like that wrt snow/rain/sun/dust devils.

of corse when i say dust devils, most people think i mean 'dirt devil', like the vacuum cleaner...

oh, and i think we have totally hijacked this thread!!

Definitely! At least we haven't left AJS7791 hung out looking for an answer to a car problem.

These should bring back some memories:
