M Emblems - ???

Hi. I am new here. I just bought a 2008 M3 Coupe and I am selling my 2003 M3 SMG vert. My car before that was a 2000 M Roadster (After the roadster I was in Japan on business for seven years). My car before that was a 97 M3. My car before that was a BMW 325 E. Now we're going way back LOL.

Intro aside, I have a question on M emblems. Why do some people take their genuine M3 emblem off and put on just a "M" emblem?

I read cars without a number following the M are not "full M" cars.

Maybe people just want others to think their cars are not as powerful so they can PWN them? lol.

You had an M3. And I think you've got it backwards, models with the "M" following the numerical designation are "M-ified" so to speak. With some M components, mostly cosmetic.

I, personally, would never remove the "3" from the M3 as it's iconic.

With all due respect to the forum, this thread has over 100 views and I'm surprised not one person welcomed me aboard!
