Help please. Is this a good deal?
Hi everyone , I live in st Louis, MO and this is my first post and possible it will be my first BMW..
Yesterday, I put down a deposit for below deal and before I sign my contract I wanted to get some of you guys opinion. It's a 2012 528i xdrive with 5000 miles on it( demo car) it's a basic model with only cold weather package. $40,000 + $200 doc fee= total $40200 What do you guys think . Also I really like the wheels on 535 so I was going to trade in what 528 comes with(17')and pay dealer what ever the price differences to get 535's wheels. (18'). Any suggestion on this idea as well. Thanks and happy new year everybody!!!! |

What is MSRP?

MSRP is essential.
You can start by doing a KBB appraisal. Whether those 5K miles came from people at the dealership, or John Q Public, you should view it as a used car and treat it as such from a pricing perspective.

Why is MSRP so essential? The value of the car at this point is what the used market will bear, based on your good opinion to use KBB as one source of information. I've sold many cars privately and not one person asked what the MSRP was. It's kind of immaterial, IMO, as long as you know the equipment on the car. Is there some retained value percentage you use to calculate the "correct" used price? I've never seen that done in an actual sale.

The MSRP on this car is about low to mid $50K, $40K is a good deal.

MSRP is $51,855
People at the dealer(managers) drove the car, and car has never been titled to anyone. They also offer me %1.5 apr for 5 years. its funny that i said I will do my own finance and they come back and beat BMW finance rate(%3.25). and offer me %1.5 |

Invoice is about $48500 for a new 2013 528xi and currently there is a $1000 rebate. You got the car for $7500 less than new, thats not bad for a demo.

If it was a 2013 demo, it would have a few thousands more.

as far as i know only difference between 2012 528 ix vs 2013 528ix is the navigation interface, since my car is not coming with Nav, is there any other changes i should be aware?
At the end, if teh only difference is NAV, i rather save some money and go with 2012. Thanks. |
