Tire Warranty?

Car is going in this morning for what I thought and still think is a bent rim in the rear. Been experiencing vibration through the seat and vibration in the rear window. Yesterday my low tire warning came on and I just put air in all of them a few weeks ago with a reset. It feels like a run flat flat. I have had the car for a year and two days. Wondering if the manufacturer warranty will help. I also have the wheel insurance but I don't think it's wheel and tire.

On closing on my 2013 535i, in a weak moment, the salesmanager talked me into a protection package for $1900. it included the interior & exterior protection, a Lojack competition product (worth a 5% insurance discount), a tire and wheel warranty & some other trivial junk. The wheel warranty was not available separately. Since I probably hold the world record for flat tires & the runflats aren't repairable, I hope I didn't waste the cash.

Okay, I'm confused.

If you have wheel & tire insurance and you still have the manufacturer's warranty you should be covered for everything, other than maybe a wheel alignment.

I think there is language in the tire and rim policy that says th rim has to be bent to a point where it will not allow the tire to hold air. So I suspect if you can see the bend, and you are filling up air every few days, and have the rim insurance, it would be covered. I'm not sure they cover costs of wheel alignments however.

Also, in Canada at least they seem to a have a lifetime total policy payout amount.... I would confirm if this is th same in USA or not... A this point that doesn't matter as it sounds like its yor first issue.

I have used my policy for a two flats without any issue, it was painless for me but the dealer had tons of work, pictures and even recording the serial number off the tires!

I got a rib marked removed off two rims once, and was not changed.. When I had a third one they said they made a mistake last time and were declined the claim by the policy, shows me the language in the agreement for that so I ha to pay for the 3 rd rim scratch myself, but it was 135 bucks and looked perfect when it was done.

I did have tire and wheel insurance. I wasn't sure if I had both when I posted. They replaced the front left tire with a brand new run flat. I had a $50 deductible. As for the wheels, none where replaced. I still think the car is riding a little hard with a slight vibration at high speeds. I could be the cold weather here and the impact it has on the roads meaning that aren't as malleable or smooth. It could also be the one year impact on run flats. I didn't think the run flats were that big of a negative until now but when the car is not as smooth as it was on delivery I suspect it is the tires. I may have all the wheels rebalanced. I do suspect that getting the dealer and third party insurance company to replace a wheel will be a hassle and something they won't do unless there is a severe bend. I might take them off while I have some tread and save them for lease turn in.

If yor still using the factory all season run flat, and all seasons you will get sub par performance in weather conditions around freezing and below. I used my factory all seasons last. Year when I picked my car up in dec 2011 and it was like the balance was not perfect. I swapped out to run flat winters this fall and they work very well at the freezing temp

Just remember the mfg (goodyear) has a 5-6 year roadhazard warranty on the tires...during the 1st year its free replacement...after the 1st year its prorated to your tire depth. If your dealer gives you a hard time, call GoodYear yourself.
