Daytime Running Lights
Hey I have an 04 BMW X5 3.0i and was wondering if there's any way to change my headlights so that they can run during the day. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Simple programming can enable that. To do it yourself will require a couple of tools and some software. Or you can take it to a dealer, they'll do this for a fee...
I've enabled mine on a different car by bypassing the wiring and tapping into a 12V line switched from the accessory line (car on, etc.). If you want to do some wiring and have more potential for customization, that's what I would do. In my old car, I had LED lights in the DRLs and installed capacitors to keep them on when the car was off for about 30 seconds.

Perhaps a local BMW owner may be able to code your car for a case of beer. I got my X coded so that all the doors would open with just one touch of the remote instead of two touch, lock the door when the car is in gear and being driven, Open and Close the windows and sunroof via the remote and fog lights on when the Hi beams are also on. Cost me 60 bucks for the Coding.

Is there any way I could do it myself? I don't really have the money to pay them to do it. Especially where I live

You have some options, but without the proper tools for any of the options, the short answer is no.
So find someone with the coder to do it for cheap, or bust out some wiring and wire cutters. If I were to do it all over again, I'd look for people with the coder via the local BMW CCA chapter. If I'm not mistaken, the Tampa chapter is closest to you in Naples. Ask around through them?
