E39 (1997 - 2003)
The BMW 5-Series (E39 chassis) was introduced in the United States as a 1997 model year car and lasted until the 2004 when the E60 chassis was released. The United States saw several variations including the 525i, 528i, 530i and 540i. -- View the E39 Wiki

newbie project started

whats up everyone, i start to do a little modding now, since i had my e39 for awhile now.
1st on my list is carbon fiber trim wrap
2nd is change the color of the ugly gray top half
here are some pics that i started on my project, since i have 4 days off this week lol

What kind of 3M have you used? Was it difficult to wrap?

Its a 3D carbon fiber i bought on eBay. No its pretty easy

Waw the parts look like they came out really good! Nicely done! I think I will be doing the same to mines. The guy I bought it from had done a poor job on the trim and it was cracked by the shifter knob. The job was very poorly done and has almost no shine to it. Il have to sand them down and reapply some clear to make them smooth before I apply the 3D carbon on there. What material did you do the trim in next to the windows? Also what adhesive? I have a spray can at home for car material

all i did was i painted the trims, with fabric spray from dupli color, the color i used was flat black. it comes out real nice just a little ruff, but who sits there and feels the trims lol. today i finished the trims , where the sit belt goes. the plastic insert where it adjust, i wrap that also, looks sick
