Any F10 folks have a leaky floor?

Spent a few days driving in heavy rain in Northern California and ended up with a soaked carpet on the driver side rear floor. I can't imagine it was caused by anything other than a floor-level leak - I've got the rubber mats and there was no water on the upper surface, no wetness anywhere else in the vehicle. I've read the E39s had some floor leak issues, but haven't found any reports in an F10.

Taking it to the dealer for a look in a few days nonetheless. I haven't managed to get it entirely dry, and if the carpets need to come up then I want them to do it.

I have a friend who had a similar issue in his 2002 745i. It turned out to be a faulty drain for the moonroof. IIRC, he had it fixed by the dealer under warranty.

I had this problem on my 2003 E39. There was a weather seal inside the rear doors that would come unglued from the surrounding metal. Water that naturally gets inside the door would then be able to migrate into the cabin. The result was a wet rear floorboard.

Haven't heard about it on the F10, but was quite common on the E39.

$20 says one of the two drain tubes. Since it happened during rain, I'm betting the sunroof drain tube.

Well despite two days worth of spraying every gutter/drain, pulling up the carpets, the door panels to verify moisture barriers, etc., they couldn't find a leak path. If it happens again I'll bring it in wet (couldn't manage that this time) and go from there. At least some other minor services got done at the same time.

On a positive note, they gave me a 2013 535i for two days, which I hadn't driven before. Damn it I love that engine! What a fantastic car!

Oddly; I have had a 528 for almost 5 weeks now; and and I was thinking I could get use to that engine. The 2013 528 with that 4 cyl turbo actually moved pretty good... The sounds at idle (its winter here so I was not going to try this with windows rolled down at -20) was odd, like a diesel but I could have got use to that car... it was way better than I expected...

(ps. I only drive a 535 and 550 when I purchased my car in dec 2011)

p.s. no leaky floors in my car... or the loaner I have now
