Is Navigation upgrade worthwhile?
I just acquired a 2010 535xiT E61 with 6 MT and the updated idrive - much improved over my 2007 6 MT (now for sale, also with 6 MT). However I have the question whether it is wrth upgrading and how best to do this. Here are my questions:
1. Is there any new functionality in the upgrade? New views, 3 D etc - or is it just an update of the maps and POIs? 2. Can one just buy the upgrade DVD and install or is there some dealer verification step needed? 3. Is the capability of the 2010 E60/61 essentially the same as in present F10? Thanks! |

Are you referring to the new $200 DVD BMW sells? Then it just has updated locations, ie new roads built and such.

Congrats on the new car
What are the specs, where did you find it, and if you don't mind sharing the price you got it for...I'm shopping for the same right now!

2010 535xiT with 6 MT
Paid about 39k, 6MT Sport premium package heated seats nav. From BMW dealer in NE. Only saw one earlier wagon MT in last 3 months that was 50K in Seattle. Did have M sport though but seemed seriously overpriced.
