Mein Auto: 2013 X5
Yet another tire/alignment recommendation and any other service for 1st visit

Hi everyone,
mostly just a reader, but finally purchased the 2013 X5 with sports package.
I've read a lot of the threads, and yes, I didn't do enough research prior to finding out that the 20" has Dunlop summer performance tires.
I live in the chicagoland area and with the snow/ice the past few weeks, I am slipping all over the place. My wife wanted to take the rear wheel 3 series instead of this new SUB. =)

I'm going to take it in for an alignment check before the 2,000 miles are up, but I'm thinking of getting new tires. I have a few questions and recommendations would be appreciated.

- should I get new tires first then bring it in for an alignment check or should I just do the alignment with the existing dunlop tires because of the warranty, then just change out the tires? (Continental Extreme Conctact DWS still a good option?)
- How do you manage the extra tires? do you usually just bring them into the trunk and keep them in the garage? I'm just not familiar with changing from winter to summer tires, etc. any shops keep them and change out when needed?
- for a 1st trip to service dept, anything else I should have checked out before limited warranties run out? I had no idea 2000 miles warranty was existent on alignment/tire, before I read on this thread.

thanks for all your help!
